As a holiday present you got the Honda crank bolt lucky dog award since it came right out. Awesome to hear that you should not have to borrow the vehicle over the holiday period. I would post a happy face on this post if I only knew more about computers. Congrats and thanks for posting back!

Thought I couldn't get the bolt back in for a min, but had some debris in there I had to flush out. Heading off to get a torqstik and bigger impact to put it back together...

Question. I can't remember how the key sits. one end is sloped. currently have it facing the crank in the keyhole with the sloped in out.

is there a particular way it's supposed to go in since I can't remember how it came out? I've only found 1 video that showed the key sitting in there and it was a different motor (not f22b2) and the end on it was solid, not sloped, but I know there are a couple of styles...

dunno

I could not find any guidance in shop manual on the slope of the woodruff key.

My suggestion is the sloped side should be to the outside end where it mates w/ the crankshaft pulley. This has a lower torque requirement, compared to the timing belt.

Perhaps someone else knows for certain.

good luck

The sloped/curved side should face the crankshaft, while the flat side should face the pulley.
