Default Socket size for Rear Caliper Bracket bolts?

Does anyone know what socket size I will need for removing the Rear Caliper Brackets on a '07 Accord SE? I'm buying some 1/2" drive sockets and a breaker bar for my brake job and I don't want to buy more than I need (money's tight right now...). Thanks, Reggi

I'm not certain of size (14, 15 or 17mm), but would suggest buying an inexpensive socket set (3/8" drive, 10-19mm range) if you don't have. These are more vesatile, less expensive and plenty strong enough to break the caliper bolts. If you need more leverage w/ a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar, use a 1/2x3/8 reducer on 3/8" drive socket.

Craftsman or Stanley are adequate quality and reasonably priced.

If you have to stop and make a 2nd trip to store to buy another socket, you will spend more than an inexpensive set.

good luck

Thanks. I have a 3/8" Craftsman socket set with those sizes. I didn't think of the 1/2 to 3/8" reducer. Sounds like a good idea. (Advance Auto has sockets for about $6 each so I was thinking of just buying the one I needed.) Reggi
