Default Soft Brakes!

Hello,

I have manual transmission Honda Accord. The ABS light has been ON for past several months and according to the error code, my right rear sensor has failed. But lately, my brakes have been really mushy. If I press the brake pedal quickly, it works quite well but if I press the pedal slowly, the pedal keeps going down and down ...sometimes, lot closer to the floor before car stops. Also, if I am stopping on an upslope with the brake pedal depressed, I can feel that the brake slowly becomes ineffective and car rolls back slowly and pedal continues to go down and down. I recently had an oil change when they topped all the fluids, which, I believe includes brake fluid too.

Any ideas????

If I am to get any work done on my brakes, which one should I go for...... Meineke or Midas ??

Thanks for any suggestions...

you need to replace the brake master cylinder,,,,,get 1 from Honda and do it yourself,, there is a write up on our DIY section ...
Or if you are not mechanically inclined shop around but i would install a Honda master or Adler brand , i would not advice to get 1 from ,,,checker , auto zone, pep boys etc etc
if a shop charges less in labor that the honda dealership,, buy the master yourself at the Honda dealer and take it to the shop to be replaced

I just checked to confirm that the brake fluid in the master cylinder is at its MAX level. this means it has to be the faulty master cylinder, right?
