Default Speedometer and Tachometer Below Stop Pin

I have a 2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6. My alternator died. I replaced it. After replacing the alternator, both the speedometer and tachometer needles are below the stop pins. When I start the car both pins move up and are stuck below the stop pins. Any ideas on how I might get them to move to the other side of the pins? Thank you in advance.

The only thing I can think of is to remove the cluster, take it apart, then carefully lift the needles past the stop.

Hopefully the speedometer and tach did not get damaged due to the needles getting bound.
