Speedometer & Tachometer went off

I drive an 02 Honda Accord Ex, my problem started when I left New Jersey, during the ride as I pursued a stopping point off the PA Turnpike leaving NJ I would notice my cd player cut off and come back on, when I had to fill up for gas the car wouldnt turn on so I popped the hood and found that the negative end of the battery wasnt attached, I reattached it and the car started again so off I went to my next destination.
Today this happened again, I reattached the battery but now the Speedometer wont show me how many MPH Im driving and the RPMs on the Tachometer wont show up either, they both stay below zero. Has anyone else encountered this problem & how do I go about fixing this, thank you for your time!

EDIT: AS OF 2:33- I went outside and unscrewed the negative end of the battery connection and reattached it more firmly than what it how it was previously attached, this somehow fixed the problem and wa~lah the the Tachometer and Speedometer are giving me the jumps I like to see. In the future though I will be putting some investments into better connections for the battery to avoid this situation and possibly a new battery in the very near future seeing as how there is some erosion (not terrible but its getting there), mmmmmmmmmmmm battery dust. Nice to be a part of the forums!
