I am using accord 98, 4cylinders, auto transmission, with mileage 210,000. My check engine light has been on since more than a year now when i did some work on the exhaust tube. Scanning results shows EGR insufficiency[P0401]. I have been driving the car like that without any problems. But today i notice that the check engine light just went off and didn't on since morning. How is that possible? Any explaination will be appreciated. secondly my remote key is not functioning very well. There is difficulties in locking and unlocking the doors. No other problems with Accord. Accord are great cars. Hope to hear from you all. Thanks

 

Well, be happy for a while....be sure the buld still works when you first turn the key to on it should come on for ~3 seconds and then go off.

I hate to say this but I'd bet a cup of coffee it will come back in a few days/weeks. If it does, don't assume it is the same code, have a parts store read it for free....that way you know.

If it is just one remote having issues with the door locks. Might want to change the battery, they don't cost that much. While there blow any dirt and that on the inside and see what you have from there.
