P1491 is for the EGR valve lift sensor. It means that the EGR valve is not opening to the proper height. That could be due to a bad EGR valve or the vacuum that controls the valve is not working properly. I would follow the vacuum hoses from the EGR valve to the EGR solenoid to see if any vacuum hoses are cracking/damaged.
You may also want to clean the EGR ports. In the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link to cleaning egr ports for the 94-97 accords.
The P0740 code is for the transmission. The diagnostics say to fix any other codes first, then check for the transmission code, so fix the P1491 code. When was the last time the transmission fluid was changed? What fluid was used?
