Default Sport light flasing

New here and hello to all. I recently purchased a 1990 2dr accord it has 237,xxx miles on the 4cyl auto. The car is in awesome shape and the engine runs perfect. I do have a issue with the sport light flashing on the dash and it seems the car won't shift into overdrive. At 65mph the rpms are around 3k or so. The sport button on the shifter doesn't to anything.. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Default RE: Sport light flasing

if you short the service connector it will produce a code and tell you why it's on (go to the DIY section and there is instructions on how to do this) once you have the code let us know what it is and we can give you more of a solution on what's wrong with it.

A common reason for that light to flash is the VSS being bad but that would result in your speedo/cruise not working as well so I doubt that's your issue.
