squeaky belts in 90 accord
on start up, my belts will squeak for 2 or 3 seconds, just kind of annoying. then other times it will sound like a ****in box of bottle rockets were thrown in a fire pit lol. will replacing the belts solve my problem? not realy a mechanic but just figuered id ask. thnks
1. Change your language. I know it sucks and I curse like a sailor, but it's forum rules and it's makes for much better reading.
2. Search. Squeeking belts has been cover 128041243 x 10^22374 times.
3. Replace the belts. If you have a 12mm and 14mm socket, maybe an exentsion, 20 mins and $40you'll be good as new. Tension the belts so there is about 1/2" of flex on the longest part of the belt.

There is a 14mm pivot bolt at the top of the alt [not in the pic]
then a 12mm at the bottom, loosen them up;
Then there is a long threaded bolt 10mmto increase the tension.
I usually make that ALTbelt "Banjo String" tight
