How can I inspect the seat belt buckle myself to see if this is the issue?
A good first step would be to find out why the light is coming on. What trouble code does it have stored?

I took the car to the dealer (Flow Honda Winston-Salem NC) today for the 90k service and they fixed the problem with the SRS light for nothing. They said it was covered under a lifetime warranty recall. They replaced the buckle, cleaned the belt, and reset the codes. It's good to see that Honda stands behind their products.
My dealer did the same.

Autozone found no codes or problems. Japanese Auto repair shop told me to take it into Honda for a reset.(did the reset myself and the light came back on after an hour) I calledthe dealer who wanted ~$190 to take a look. I called AHM customer support and they told me to take it into a Honda dealer and there would likely be charges. They told me that the car was not a part of the SRS air bag recall (based off of my VIN). Crap, I say!

It's possible that if you bring it to a Honda dealer and the diagnosis is the same as for the vehicles under recall that they have an option of fixing the vehicle in good faith.

Default RE: SRS Light

I have a 2001 Accord EX V-6 and have had the car into the Honda Dealer four different times over the past 9 months because the SRS light was on. Each time it was diagnosed with a code of 9.3 for failed driver seat buckle and replaced without any cost to me. The last time was done about 2 weeks ago and the light is back on again. I guess myconcern is whether there are any safety issues while this light is on or whether this is just an electronic malfunction of some sort.
