Angry starting problems

My 2013 accord has failed to start 3 times in the last 16 months, the engine will crank but not turn over as if the battery were dying. i let it sit then come back 15 minutes(ish) and it starts normal. Battery is new, thoughts?

Terminology for an engine not starting is confusing and can lead down the wrong diagnostic path. Cranking means you turn the key to start the engine and the starter motor spins the engine. When your engine is running on its own, is when the engine starts. So do you have a crank/no-start or a no-crank/no-start?

I would say you have a bad battery, or you have bad connections to the battery.
2nd choice would be bad ground.

Try removing both connections to the battery and clean the posts and the connections on the battery cable.

Bad battery is unlikely, because the battery wouldn't recharge itself. 3 times in the last 16 months is an extremely intermittent problem. I'd start with cleaning connections. Disconnect the battery and clean all ends of both battery cables. Clean the bolt and eyelets with a wire brush or sandpaper, the battery posts as well to ensure a good connection.
