Sticky throttle???
This is more of an annoyance than an issue. My dad's car (a 2000 Honda Accord 2.3l, auto, EX sedan) has a sticky gas pedal. He's taken it to the shop because they said they'd do it cheap, but he doesn't want to take it there, so I am asking you guys. It mainly happens when it's cold, but it is noticeable at other times. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? I know the shop cleaned something, but I'm not sure what and I don't want to take a bunch of stuff off and not be able to get it back together.

RE: Sticky throttle???
Like Chio mentioned, try cleaning the throttle body. I had the same problem. It alwayshappened after the car sat for a while and "cooled down".I thought it was the throttle cables but it was not. I removed the rubber "tube" leading from the air box to the throttle body and got a flash light and looked inside. Right by the metal "flap" there was gum & varnish residue. I used some spray can"hogwash" and cleaned itwith the engine running buthad to shut the engine off and hold the flap open and wipe around the area. that did the trick.... smooth as ever....

RE: Sticky throttle???
I currently have the same problem in my 2000, but I haven't posted here cause I figured I just need to clean the TB as mentioned above. Clean the TB and maybe try some SeaFoam! Hopefully I'll get around to mine this weekend. It's annoying the crap out of me.
