sunlight/temperature sensors
hi, I am using accord 98, 2.3L, auto trans. 4 cylinders, what are the purpose of sunlight and temperature sensors in this car. I know they are for climate control. I need detail explaination on its functions and reason why they installed it. Thanks

Shop manual doesn't provide any detailed information. My guess is the sunlight sensor is used to provide a bias to get good AC performance when heat load is increased by sunlight exposure. It may also be used for auto-on of head lights in some vehicles.
Temp sensor tell the HVAC ATC system what temperatures are in cabin and outside air temperature facilitating a closed loop system where cabin temps are correctly maintained for comfort.
good luck

Does it have auto-climate-control? I had a 98 EX and it didn't have auto. So I expected that a 4-cyl LX would have manual heater/AC. (That's USA Accord models, & you don't indicate where you're located.)
