Surging idle. 2007 Accord
It is a 2.4 with 170K so I removed and cleaned the throttle body as I had a delayed throttle response issue and an occasional stumble under load. I replaced the paper gasket after a thorough cleaning with TB Cleaner. I did the re-idle procedure and I now have a strange idle problem while driving. To better explain it the car starts fine and idles great in the garage at 800 rpm. But if I am driving and push in the clutch it surges between 1000 and 2000 rpms as if I am on and off the throttle. It does this at a stop sign or anytime while moving and clutch is depressed. After a few moments at a stop sign it eventually goes back down and idles at 800 rpm. I also unhooked the battery to try and reset the pcm and idle but still have the problem.

Is it totally related to the clutch pedal? Meaning, in nuetral without pressing the pedal does the rpm jump around still?
You might check the IAB and be sure that when the engine is at normal temp there is no vac being passed.
Is so double check the coolant level to be sure it is full. If it is you might need to replace the IAB.

I did the re-idle procedure a second time as I think I forgot to wait 2 seconds after turning the key on the first time. So that seemed to resolve the issue as all seems to be working well now. It was that or maybe I had some dirt/carbon lodged somewhere from cleaning the throttle body and it worked itself out? Throttle response is good now and no more surging so hopefully good to go! Thanks.
