Tailgate open message on all the time on 2007 tourer which doesnt allow me to lock my vehicle with the key fob, if i turn headlights on problem dissapears and car will lock and function as normal, everything else on the tailgate is working as it should any advice please

 

That is a strange electrical problem, so I'd lean towards checking your grounding points on the wire harness in the trunk area. You'll have to follow the black wires to find the specific location, but I suspect it will be near the taillights.
