Temp gauge on High!!!!

Default Temp gauge on High!!!!

temp gauge on high when car idle but goes down when car runs.
sounds like fan not turning on but it does turn on.

what else could be the problem?
thermostat?
coolant?
radiator?
pls help tnx!!!!!

When the engine is cold, open the radiator cap to see if the radiator is full of coolant. Fill with radiator fluid and look for sources of a leak if it isn't full.

You shouldn't let your engine run when the temp gauge reads hot.

As for the fans, turn on the a/c when the car is running and see if both fans are running.

Let us know what you find.

checked the fans both runs and blows toward the engine.
i'll checked coolant level right now.

Check the condition of the radiator core from the outside. Feel and inspect the cooling fins down toward the bottom. If there are missing fins and they are soft and gooey it is time for a radiator this is for the cooper or brass cores. I don’t think the aluminum core ones can do that.

problem fixed!!!!
it was low on coolant
so far temp gauge remains low

my fault, i forgot to add coolant back after cleaning the IAC (iac was dirty result engine speedometer going up and down, cleaned it with distributor cleaner(burns when get in skin) )

i also removed the top hose (more space to work) to change my tranny (FYI:98-02 accord DX,LX,EX 4cyl engine(ULEV not sure) Transmission(BAXA) are interchangeable PROVEN) Thanks to the intelligent guys in this forums VERY VERY HELPFULL keep up thumbs up to yuo guys!!!!!!:thmsup:
