Default thinking about getting a 9th gen v6 coupe

I'm thinking about getting a 9th gen v6 coupe

1. is there a toolkit that you recommend getting, like something with screwdrivers and other stuff

2. is there a different model/generation that you recommend looking at

thanks

There isn't anything Honda specific for a tool kit I can recommend. Depending on the work required a metric ratchet/socket set will be needed. An impact wrench is helpful if you plan on doing brake/suspension work. I'd recommend getting some kind of OBD2 scanner that can read live data along with codes for troubleshooting. There are inexpensive bluetooth OBD2 connectors that can work with phone apps like TorquePro.

The only generation I'd avoid on the accords is 98-02 V6 as they had more transmission issues than most hondas. I'd recommend getting a used vehicle inspection by a shop that specializes in Hondas/Asian cars or a reputable shop. This will help identivy potential repairs needed in the future as you won't know the whole history of the car. The 9th genration V6 has a timing belt that needs replaced at certain intervals, so that is an added expense. The 4-cylinder accords use a timing chain, so there is no maintenance for the 4-cyl.
