thinking about parting out 96 2.2L Accord
Im thinking about parting out our 1996 Accord 2.2L. It runs fine but is a complete eyesore not much clearcoat one door that is a different color. I could probably sell it for $800-$1000 I suspect.
If I parted it out what $$ should I expect?
How much work/time would be involved?
I dont live near a big metro area so that concerns me a little bit about audience for some of the larger parts.

Look at car-part.com to get a feel for prices on used engines, trans, etc and estimate your total return. You will need to sell a lot of parts to get $1000 and you may wait a long time to get that total.
If you're intent on no further use of car, suggest an outright sale. If you consider your time worth anything, this is a better return.
good luck

I'm with Texas. Honda parts arent exactly worth a lot, and they are pretty common. I would just get what you could get as a whole.
I had bins upon bins of 94-97 accord parts I ended up turning in for scrap metal.

You just sealed the deal, you try parting that thing out and you'll most likely end up single.

I just sold my 98 ex coupe last week. The previous owner did a crappy diy paint job and it looked more like a purple zebra.
It ran great and had 182k miles. I sold it for 1500. The guy drove almost 4 hours 1 way to get the car. He bought it for his wife and didn't want car payments. Lookup the kbb value and post on Craigslist. There is always someone looking for a vehicle.
