So I am not crazy about doing a valve adjustment or having to pay for it. I bought Seafoam to clean out my fuel system in hopes that will help. Heard mixed reviews on Seafoam...whatever. Is this a temporary fix and I should just do the valve adjustment or this and oil change with some Lucas oil added will fix the dreaded ticking?

Seafoam probably isn't bad for cleaning gunk, but if your valves actually need adjustment, Seafoam or Lucas or any kind of oil changes won't magically adjust them.

Wrenches & feeler gauges...

Yeah Im going to see how well the Seafoam works. See if it lessens the ticking. If that doesnt work prob get the valve adjustment. Since I dont have tools to do the job anyone have good estimates for valve adjustments? Last I search was $300. Any chance I could get it a little cheaper?

If the seafoam works, that probably means the ticking wasn't valve-lash to begin with.

I'm guessing that the rear bank is a pain to access, but I don't have any better guess for the cost of valve adjustment.
