Default touch up paint or body shop

While pulling out of the garage yesterday, I scratched an area of the car just above the front left wheel. I am not sure if it would be advisable to buy a touch up paint and fix it myself or go to an auto body shop and have it done there. Is there a guess you guys can make on how much a body shop would charge for this kind of a repair?

I have attached a picture to show the damage.

You may have some good success by first polishing out the scuff mark on the lower area...I have used "Scratch Doctor" with decent results. It is a light paste in a tube, applied and polished with a wax applicator or soft terry towel. The larger chipped areas that I can see would require touch up paint. Fortunately for you, white is a very forgiving color and will touch up well. Apply it sparingly and do two touch ups if needed, rather than one heavy application.

Thanks!! Do you think scratch doctor would fix the scuff mark? I haven't used it ever so just curious. With the reviews and description I read online after your suggestion, it felt like it only fixes minor scratches and all.

For scratches and scuff marks, I would recommend Quixx. It uses a process called plastic deformation. Plastic deformation is a permanent distortion of a material, in this case, the paint at the scratched spot. The paint material surrounding the scratch is mechanically deformed so that it flows into the scratch gap and the scratch is filled with the vehicle's original paint. With Quixx, the scratches do not come back. I've used Quixx before and am a true believer in it. It is available at Walmart, Autozone, etc.; but, Walmart has the best price.

With other scratch removers, the scratches will eventually show again.

You do have a spot or two that may require some touch up paint though.

There is a touch up paint process that gotten very good review and that is Dr. Color Chip.

Normally applying touch up paint yourself is not a good idea because the paint will flash. But like the other poster said, white is a very forgiving color. It still may flash though if the shades of white don't match.
