tranny dipstick

RE: tranny dipstick
Yeah, it's underneath the lower radiator hose. There's a holder for that hose above the starter, you can push the hose out of the way. The dipstick in my '98 comes out OK, I don't know what's preventing yours...

I think he was meaning he pulled it out slightly, but didn't pull it out all the way because he wasn't sure what it was
Here's a pic of where it is on a '99 Auto EX. This pictureis of the passenger side of the engine compartment.

The airbox has been moved so you can see it more easily. You can see the picture taker's hand is holding the airbox out of the way.

Thanks yeah I wasn't sure for a bit. But, I used the process of elimination later on to figure it out. I think I need to tighten a heat shield on my car cause once in a while usually when starting the car I hear a kind of grinding noise (and it definitely is not the tranny).
Any ideas on what I should do for the heat shield?

There's heat shields all the way back along the exhaust system.Once you figure out which one is rattling, then you'll have to figure out whether it's too far corroded or maybe you can clamp it, or use big fender washers, or some way to hold it in place.
