Well to tell the truth I wasn't even going to buy this car. I wanted a 2002-2003 Nissan sentra ser spec v. My parents wouldn't let me buy it because it is a stick. They think that I will get into an accident, then the insurance raises, then we will get sued, then lose our house.....typical parent crap. I finally found a perfect priced one, then they tell me no. I was gonna pay for the whole car too. I knew I shoulda waited till I was 18 to pay for the whole thing and insurance. Now I have to deal with worrying that my tranny can die at any time and be extremely hard to sell....

Tell her it's covered under a warranty. If they don't want to bring it in, then put it up for sale ASAP and let someone else deal with it. That's what falkore did... There's countless stories about the 6th gen tranny issue and we can find threads you can show your parents.
Actually, my tranny died and I turned in the car barely moving under its own power. I got about $4000 for it. It would have been worth about $7000.

Wow $4000 with a busted tranny? That's really good IMO. But I wonder how muchI can get for mine w/o the tranny busted. Just gotta figure out another car I'd wanna get.

The V6 engine helps a bit .... I estimate $4000, but it was actually part of the deal on the trade-in. The Accord + $10k.

The Scion was originally posted at $18,900.

Whoever got that car off of the auction got a sick suspension for free .....not to mention CAI, HID's on TYC projectors, the Pioneer HU, wood interior, WS2 exhaust, Megan headers, etc.

I'd expect 4000-5000 for the 4 banger

Well I decided to add on to this thread. I Left my car overnight at the honda dealer for them to check out the transmission. I got the paper that they gave me about the inspection/road test and the tech says it has a 1-2 Flare. The transmission would have to be replaced and would cost around $3,440(HUGE STEAL). Thats the end of this autotragic and hopefully I can get like 2 more years out of my tranny.

lol $3,400 to replace a tranny? Thats too funny. Could get a used tranny for $300 then install it yourself.

I know LOL. Now my mom is freaking out telling my sister saying I need a new tranny and it's $3,500 and that she feels responsible and wants to cry since I was pushed away from the car I wanted and got me the accord. I feel so bad right now. All I did was get it inspected lol. I knew they would say that. Now I have to calm her down.

Hah! thanks for the offer but I don't think that will happen...unless I could get a manual tranny. My tranny should last me a while. My dad just told me that I shoulda told him first before I brought it to the dealer (since now it's in the carfax that the car has a bad tranny) that he knows alot of tranny guys that coulda looked at it. I think hes gonna bring it somewere this saturday. I'm telling him though that a rebuilt auto is not the answer...

Can someone(Finch) please remind me again why a F22 or H22 or H23 tranny won't just swap in and solve the boom boom problem.
