Default Transmission screens

I understand that teh shift solenoid has a screen that is removeable and can be cleaned. If so, where is it and how does it come out. Are there any others? The 97 I just bought has 165K and I don't think the tranny has had regular service. I am in the process of changing the fluid, 2 quarts at a time. There is lots of material on the drain plug, so if there are screens, they might well be clogged.

If solenoid has a screen it would be on the inlet port of the solenoid. There are several shift solenoids on the transmission.

Transmission hydraulic pump inlet screen is inside the transmission. Accords don't have a removable pan to allow access to the screen. I don't think it's serviceable w/o removing trans.

You need to download a 94-97 Accord Shop Manual from the links referenced on this site for guidance.

good luck
