Default Transmission swap

Looks like I will need to replace the auto transmission on my 97 wagon.

Is this something I can do in my garage with jack stands and a floor jack?

Is there a good tutorial somewhere?

The shop manual will help you the most. You can download a 94 from the spooner link in the online manuals thread in the diy section.

Are you sure the transmission internals are shot? Have you checked for PCM codes?

It is a Torque converter lockup issue. Been through the steps in the manual,. No codes. Honda ATF....

I was hoping for some anecdotes from someone who has done it themselves on their garage floor.

Have you ruled out the lockup-solenoid having flaky electrical connection? Or a bad lockup solenoid?

Yes, checked those, but now I am not so sure there is a problem. I had it at the dealer and they said they are not sure either. I distincly remember the car running 70mph at 2700 rpms. Now it turns almost 3000. Maybe I am remembering wrong. Can anyone with a good TC confirm what their rpms are at 70mph on level ground cruising?
