Question 97 Accord Wiper Control Handle

Good Day,

Yesterday my winshield wiper control handle on the steering column made a "popping sound" and now the handle feels kind of flimsy. When you move the handle down, the wipers work but when you pull the handle towards the driver the washer sprays do not.

Looks like something internal to the steering column broke. Does anyone know if the control handle is easily removed and replaced, and possible cost of the assembly?

Thanks!

Looks like you can relpace that switch (#18 or 19 depending on model). First you have to remove the plastic shrouds around the steering column.

Its pretty simple to replace, just two screws holding it in place. But it is kind of costly. New from Honda I believe its $50. I would try to find one on ebay or in a junk yard. Note that only one from a 96-97 will work, as the 94-95 did not have the adjustable intermediate setting.

Cool

Thanks for the info. Does not look to difficult to remove and install. Called the local Honda dealer and the part new is about 125.00

Ebay had some used ones for about 30-40 dollars, so probably give that a try.

TGIF..........for me anyway!
