Default trouble siphoning gas

Hi, first post here. I have a 1992 Honda accord EX, I have a failed fuel pump that needs to be replaced. I had 3 mobile mechanics look at it, 2 of those mechanics were dishonest crocks, the other lost interest in getting my car fixed. I have bought the parts: fuel pump and fuel filter. The number 1 problem I am having now is the fuel in the gas tank is nearly full. I can't remove the gas via drain bolt because I don't have a large enough container to hold all the gas from the bottom of the ground. It's not like I can stop the gas from flowing so that I can switch containers. The only other option is to siphoning the gas from the tank. I have tried the following

1-suck the gas out using a transparent hose. (After sucking for hours I managed to remove only 1/10th of the gas)
2-tried using a drill pump with an extended transparent hose to reach the bottom of the tanks (no luck either, I would get a trickle of gas followed by **** load of air. I tried adjusting the hose leading into the gas tank but no luck)
3-place car on incline then used a Jack to lift one side so that the liquid level would be higher (no luck either)
4- Removed the rubber hose on the fill neck (made no diffrence)

I have the Haynes Repair Manual for my make and model so I just need to know how to remove the gas out.

Thx

Three 5 gallon buckets available at home depot or lowes for ~$3 bucks work?
