overheating trouble on 90 ex
I just bought a 90 Accord EX 2dr and it ran fine for several days tell it i drove into my driveway and realized that it was overheating. IT was boiling in the overflow. I let it cool down and i checked the levels in the radiator and the overflow fluid levels and ran it for a little bit and did a coolant quality test and it was at -30degree quality, which seems to tell me the ratio is fine. Well i then drove it around town for about 20mi and it slowly started rising from its standared 2/5 level on the heat gage. it began rising tell almost at red, but i shut it off let it cool down and then drove home, I drove it again today to check it out and while driving a little heavy on back windy roads it started rising and rising again. I can't tell whats wrong and i really need help to fix it quick. The fan seems to be running fine, and both radiatr hoses bottom and top are hot, the antifreeze doesn't seem discollored at all and i have a bad valve cover gasket but i'm not sure if that matters ( it is leeeking into one plug. There doesn't seem to be any coolant leekage, and the coolant level seems to be relatively steady. Please give me any input.
