Default Union Sangyo Oil Fitler, Good or bad?

I was looking for oil filters that are less costly than the Honda dealers filters. Found Union Sangyo on Ebay at a low price. Anyone have any comments. I had used Fram a few times, the main thing I didn't like is I don't have a filter wrench that fits. Bought like three.

Any other recommendations for oil filters.

On another note, when I went to buy filters, the parts guy said Honda has used the same filter since 1987 for all their cars. My Corvair uses a Corvair only filter. One of the Corvair parts suppliers has them reproduced in Taiwan. This is the only source except old stock.

You will get a lot of opinions on here about oil filters.

Search the web for oil filters comparisons. I remember Mobil1 and Puralator filters were of good construction from a post I read many years ago.

I'm not sure how much money you will save on aftermarket vs OEM.

I think that Fram and Filtech produce the Honda OEM oil filters.

I don't really get it what can an "expensive" filter be for a Honda maybe 10.00 - 12.00? If your able to find an economy one their maybe what 5.00 each? So for lets say 4 oil changes a year your saving somewhere around 20.00 a YEAR!!?? Hardly seems worth worrying about. Just my .02 Finding a wrench that fits your particular application isn't difficult not sure where your looking.

I wouldn't overthink it; just get one that fits your wrench.
