Does the noise speed up as the blower speed increases?

Any wild ideas as to WHAT COLOR the car is?

If it was a constant clicking sound coming from the blower motor, then it could have been something as simple as a piece of debris was caught in the the fins of the blower motor.

I recently had to take apart my evaporator and was shocked with how much crap was trapped in there over the years.
