Default Valve cover removed pic...

Does my engine look clean for one
that has 112K miles on itback a few
years ago??? I removed the cover to adj
the valves...

My only complaint is a tapping or diesel sound noticed with the
car in neutral and giving it some gas 2 - 3K RPMs. At first the dealer
said it could be the main bearings but that was 4 years ago! I guess
the sound is just normal?

A friend told me he couldn't believe how clean the
area looked. Mobil1 sincethe first oil change!

94 Accord EX- Sedan

93 Accord LX 4Dr 2.2EFI MT 210K Miles
32MPG mostly short trip in-town driving.
Dude, how are you getting 32MPG? I have gotten at best on the HWY, 29.1MPG. Everything in my car is kept up with. Are you doing anything special? I have never seen that type of mileage in my car.

I normally went between 5000 - 6500K miles (using 5W30) up until last year.

Last year I used Mobil1 15W50 EF and went 10000 miles in a period of 14 months or so. I switched to using the heavier weight oil when I noticed the dieseling type noise and the dealer recommended using a heavier weight oil. The engine does not leak any oil or burn it and I have noticed no difference inusing it.

My car is coming up to 14 years old now and Mobil1 EF is good for 1 yr or 15,000 miles.

the issue you are describing sounds like it could be some clogged EGR ports, have you ever cleaned them? What other maintence have you done recently?

Yes I did check the EGR ports and cleaned them a while back when someone online recommended doing it.I have some pictures of that when I did it.

Within the last year or so the Air filter and spark plugs were replaced. Also I did put on a new distributor cap and rotor at 100K. The timing belt and water pump was changed at 90K miles.

There is a little oil coming out of the bottom weep? hole in the distributor which I guess for the mileage is normal? I don't want to buy a new one and the seal is not replaceable...I have been told. I will just keep an eye on the distributor that no oil is getting where it shouldn't be.

Never had a tune-up or a wheel alignment. Probably should have the fuel filter changed one of these days. original O2 sensors also.

That is a thing of beauty. You should send these pics to Mobil1, might get some free products out of them and they can promote just how well their product works when used properly and how it was designed.
