Default Vehicle speed pulse wire

You guys have resolved any problem i've had hands down, so i thought i would come here first. I'minstalling an aftermarket DVD/nav system in my 98 accord and was wondering if anyone knew where this wire was to tap into, or if it was even necessary on a AVN5500 headunit. I want the GPS to accurate as possible and it says it needs this connected. Thanks in advance

right behind the speedometer, take out the insturment cluster. It will be the wire plugged into the back of the speedo...

Look up the installation manual for an AFC controller for your car. It will show the ECU pin diagram and should point out the wire that you are looking for.

Also, it's not that you've stumped anyone or that nobody cares, but without a signature with your car info, nobody will help since they may be researching the wrong car ..... aka - wasting their time

I think behind the speedo would be the only place, unless you just followed it around somewhere?

Well the speed sensor is in the tranny. I think the signal goes from there through the ECU to the dash. I may be wrong, but I think that the ECU pinout diagram lists VSS as a connection (Vehicle Speed Sensor)

You could locate the VSS on the tranny itself and try to clip into that, I'm sure it goes to the ECU but I think that's just for monitoring purposes (so it will throw a code if it goes bad). Thanks for the Signature.

Does anyone have a readout for the ECU pins? I can't seem to find anything clear and evident in my minor searching...
