Default very dumb Rear View mirror issue

looked through the forums and didn't see a post on this and so thought i would ask before wailing on it. i've got a 90, the rear view mirror has become real loose, ie wont stay in position at all. i'm assuming there's some kind of mechanism inside to tighten but i can't get the case off. i've looked all over it and there's no tabs. there are two screw holes on the bottom side that leads to screws inside the mirror: removed those but the mirror is still on the pivot. attaching a few pics below. thankful for any help.

I think there is a bolt under that plastic piece between the sun visors. The plastic around the mirror may be molded, so you can't take it apart. The screws probably hold in that switch in place.

just going to post how i fixed this just in case someone else has same problem. on this mirror the clips on the plastic covering on the mount are in a strange place. i was only able to get it off by sliding a screwdriver in the gap between the mount and covering at the front and pulling down very gently because the plastic is thin until the cover popped off.

on this mirror there is no way (i could find) to remove the ball joint inside the top of the mirror--which is what was broken--so i epoxied it into place and reassembled. it was either that or buy a whole new mirror.

also might be helpful to know that its pointless to remove the two screws you can see on the bottom of the mirror. they hold the ball joint into place but removing them doesn't let you get the joint out and they are almost impossible to get back in.

Thanks for the follow-up.

If the repair does not hold, you should be able to find a replacement at a junkyard for pretty cheap that should last. This is the first time I read about a broken rear-view mirror ball-joint on this forum and I've been on here for over 11 years.

Turns out those screws aren't meant to be removed, they tighten the ball joint!

My 1992's mirror was dropping every quarter mile, or whenever I used the brakes. My son just tightened those screws and it's fixed!
