I called the dealer and they said they will 'machine the rotors' for about $280. He said brakes are not covered under warannty
that's a bunch of BS. wear on the brakes are not covered . but warped rotors shoulf definatelly be coverd .. ask to talk to the service manager and or Honda district manager

they should do it under warranty ,, do not take no for an answer

If you're able to take the rotors off and take them somewhere, you could get it done a lot cheaper than that.

On my 03 Coupe, it took like 10 minutes to rip off both front rotors, and it took the techs about an hour (in which time I installed the Koni & Eibach setup), then reput the rotors on in another 10 minutes.. it's really a no-brainer of a task and could save you some dough.

Otherwise, the 2nd offer you said from Sears isn't too shabby.
I'd skip the diagnostic cost though, go straight to machining if the breaks look good.

Spaz .... if the rotor set screw is siezed in place, it could be a real PITA to get them off ..... I had that problem .... coincidentally when my grandfather had my impact screwdriver!

Absolutelly, no if ,and or buts, positivelly ROTORS are coverd under warranty 3 yrs -36k miles

Go talk to the service manager and raise some hell ....Honda Warranty should cover the cost of resurfacing or replacing the rotors ...

That's why I suggested warranty. Rotors are not at all the same as pads. Rotors should surely last longer than 20k.

Called Service Advisor again. He said 'rotors are only covered until 12k or 12 months'.
