Default vss or tps?

hello all, i have a 91 accord lx AT and my speedo recently quit working. my tach works fine but the speedo, odometer, and tripmeter all just stopped and the s light is flashing. ive done some research and i think its the vss but i wanted to ask you guys and make sure its not the tps or something else i dont know about. thanks for any help i appreciate it.

There is a blue two pin connector that is behind the driver's side kick panel that you short with a piece of wire or a thin paperclip to get the transmission code(s) and engine code(s).

Here are the instructions for getting the code. The S light will blink the transmission code on your car:

ok i jumped the connector and i got a code 7 for the check engine light which is the throttle position sensor and a code 4 for the s light which is the speed sensor so i guess its both! thanks for the quick reply i appreciate it.

The check engine code is probably a 17, which is the VSS as well.

It will have one long blink=10 + 7 short ones.

ah ok youre absolutely right there was one long blink and seven short ones...thanks so much for your help ill get that sensor and put it in and let you know if that takes care of it.
