hey, new here. Was driving last night and my maintenance required light came one, then right after my CEL did too. Pulled the code today and it is a VTEC system malfunction. It says the probably causes are 1. Open or short circuit condition 2. Vtec solenoid valve fault 3. VTec pressure switch fault 4. Blocked oil passage.

The care just went over 90K and ive had it for the last 6, and i dont beat on it. Im somewhat mechanically inclined ive done engine swaps in mustangs but have never worked on anything like this. If anyone has experience with it and can point me in a direction where to start id appreciate it.

 

sorry should have done search first, ganna go check my oil once it cools down probably just change it anyways, then go from there.

 

Also it'll help if you tell us what year/version/engine you're talking about.
