Default Warranty Expiring, What mods to do?

So my car was certified preowned and had extended warranty. The warranty is about to expire so I was thinking I could maybe add some things to my car for fun. Keep in mind this is an automatic and my only car so I still want it to last at least 5 more years (2003 w/ 66k shouldn't be a problem)

I want
- Better handling, more planted in the turns
- Quicker acceleration, don't care about from stop talking more like passing power on highway
- better braking
- to be able to install the mods myself

I don't want
- To sound like a fart can, the quieter the better
- I don't care about aesthetics, just how my car performs

Sorry for being vague but I never done anything to a car before and don't really know much. Looking for guidance...

You'd be amazing how much a good suspension, 17" wheel, and some sticky tires can add to your driving experience. I recommend starting there and seeing what you want after. What's your budget?

What stock wheels & tires? (EX, LX, DX??)

My LX came with 15". Going +1 or +2 (which I haven't done yet) will make a noticable difference even before you change springs & shocks.

You could get a full suspension and a decent set of wheels and tires. All brand new of course

Try putting an A2 head on an A4 block let me know how that works out for you.
