Default water leaking from roof on to steering wheel

My daughter has this car - 1999 EX 3L sedan. She says that when it rains she gets water from the roof onto the handle of the steering wheel. The water lands on the top of the handle at 12 o'clock when car is pointing straight ahead.

Why might this happen?

I thought this might be due to a broken seal between the windshield and the roof. I was going to suggest that she get some clear caulk and caulk that area along the width of the roof. Any thoughts about that>

That might work if it's really the source of the leak, but you might also check the sunroof. There's a kind of raingutter running all the way around the sunroof. Each of the 4 corners has a rubber drain tube & it sounds like at least one of the drain tubes is clogged.

The front corner drain tubes go down the A-pillars & come out somewhere in the front wheel well. You might be able to poke something thru there, like a plastic line from a weed-trimmer. If you use a metal wire I think you risk putting a hole in the drain tube. Also be careful you don't poke hard enough to disconnect the drain tube at the top.

Thanks Jim. I'll suggest she take a shot at clearing the drain tubes.
