Default What is causing this noise?

1995 EX Honda Accord Special Edition V6

I noticed a loud buzzing noise yesterday. This happened when I when I was turning the ignition off & again when I opened the car with the wireless remote.

The sound with the wireless remote was not as loud.

What would you say is causing this?

Ok, when I use my wireless remote to open the doors I hear it. It only last just for a brief time just as the locks come up then it stops.
The same when I turn the car off. I do not hear it when I start my car but when I turn the ignition off. I hear it again for only a few seconds.

As I am writing this it occurs to me that it very well may be in the locking mechanism because I hear it with the wireless remote when unlocking the car doors and when turning off the ignition which also unlocks the car doors. In both cases the sound only last as long as it takes for the doors to unlock.

Just went to the car and did a test. The car door automatically locks when you start the car. So I started the car then pushed the button lock with my finger to unlock the car doors and there it was..the noise..loud and clear. So I now belive that is the culpret the locking mechanism on the doors.

Will this be expensive to have fixed?

deserthonda - you were right..."power door lock actuator" rear left door.
I had it repaired today. Thanks to everyone for their guidance.
