Default What is this part called in english and where can I find it?

Quite new and very happy owner to a Accord 08 Tourer

There is just one problem with the car.

One of the trimmings, or what to call them, on the trunk door is a bit rusty. They sit on the trunk door at the edges on the sides and concist of two parts covering the whole height of the sides. I am afraid the rust will spread to the trunk door itself and therefore tried to renovate the piece today. Then I saw the heating wires in it and understood I have to get a new one instead.

I have found it fitting a 07 model on a Swedish site, but I dont know what it is called in english so I cant search for it.

Here it is:
http://www.bildelsbasen.se/24-W355618.html

Can you please help me to locate it or at least tell me what to search for.

Do you know if the part numbers can be found so I don't have to dismount them fully before replacing?

The 74957-sed-9011-m1 looks like a Honda part number. The accord site in the US does not show this part, so this would be for non-US accords.

I am not sure what that part is. The part looks like it is some sort of sensor for the tail gate. My guess is that it is a switch for either the tailgate motor, or maybe the interior light switch.

You may be able to find one at a junkyard.

It is just a piece of sheet metal or really two pieces with a weatherstrip or sealing profile on the edge that contains a heat wire. Thats what the cable is for. It has no other function other than sealing the door and to heat up. Ig guess the whole piece becomes hot.

The one I linked to is from a 07 model. I have a 08 model.

I think your part is listed as 23/25 in the attached picture. It is called a lower tailgate sensor assembly. It is not a heater. If your tailgate is powered, then this likely sends a signal to the motor to shut off.

Found the information at lingshondaparts.com

Yes that's it!
Ok I thought it was heating but it makes sense what you say

The one named 22/24 also needs replacing beacuse of a little rust.

Were on the site did you find this? Is there part numbers or names there?

Many thanks!

Found it now.
Do you know why the part on the sketch has two numbers and there are only single numbers in the order list?

The diagram is misleading, because 23 is the right side piece and 25 is the right side. They are mirror images of each other and not identical.
