There are numerous flash (performance) update software packagesfor Mustangs, Corvettes, etc. (SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel!)

But I cannot find any for Honda. I am not looking for added performancenecessarily, I am looking to simply disable the VCM (cylinder deactivation)because it causes problems with oil consumption (TSB 11-033).

I would prefer to just disable it rather than having theflash update to fix the oil consumption problem, because it will just lessenthe problem. I have no problem indriving a 6 cylinder with all cylinders firing. I would prefer a V8, truth be told.

Does anyone sell software updates for Hondas, like SCT doesfor the American muscle cars?

If not, I know I can buy the software updates from Honda, Ijust don't know from whom.

I also need a way to connect the OBDII port to my laptop,but I don't know where to buy the cable. Does anyone have any information on where I can get these items?

you can absolutely do it, you just need to purchase the HDS from Honda (proprietary scantool) and then purchase the software for the fix. it should only cost you about 10 to 12 thousand dollars and then you'll be all set take the car in and have the TSB repairs done and call it a day.
