What are some subtle changes to gain a little pep in the step for 98 F23
I'm a mod-head!
I'm getting a 98 accord f23 5spd and I dont know much about hondas yet except for the basics. I'm more than capable of doing anything as I'm going to school for automotive technology. Looking to start off with some cheap subtle changes then maybe moving on to a turbo kit and maybe even an engine swap. I'd like to start with an exhuast. I'm up for any ideas. Many thanks in advance!

I deleted the other threads you started, because it will get confusing for people posting items in different threads.
The manual transmission Accords are pretty rock solid compared to the problems with the automatic transmissions from 98-02.
Before people will give you suggestions, what do you want to achieve with the modifications? Just more HP? Better handling? Appearance?

Appearance is the last thing I'm worried about. I want power hence my wording "pep in the step". Money isn't an issue but I dont want to go with a turbo setup just yet. What are some good bolt on parts? switching parts from other engines that could gain me some power? Would headers back exhaust make a difference or create a good sound? I NEED HELP FAST! somebody, anybody please. I'm new here yes but can a guy feel welcome here? Even if you just gave me a website or webpage describing these sort of things. This is a desperation cry. Show me the path to a good sounding quicker 98 f23 5spd accord!

From the main page scroll down to the "Your Ride" section. Look around in the "Headder's, Intake & Exhaust" section. I'm betting you find good information in there.
I only try to go fast in the Chevelle so I'm not any good with modifing Honda's for speed. Either way, you are better off planning your build first. Research and find what works for you (budget, desire, want do you want out of it). Are you wanting 300hp or something in the 500~600 range...Then start.

Hello Member
Poorman has got your number down..Planning what your going to do first by research is the only way to start on. Bolting on something that will not work later when you go to bolt on something else that wont work with what you spent good money on shortly before.
Take a pen and pad and start by what in the end your trying to accomplish is the way to start.

If you want to swap the engine or turbo it later then just go with a catback for now. Don't do header yet, it would gain some good horses but you might not be able to reuse the header later on. If you turbocharged it later on, you will have to get new turbo header/manifold anyway. Or even engine swap like said H22, the header might not fit. Catback will give you the look and sound. Good brand exhaust usually doesn't sound loud or raspy but would gain more hp. Cheap ebay exhaust would gain less hp but will sound really loud.
