i decided to clean my egr ports on 94 accord vtec. during dissasembly of egr hoses i noticed that the hose on the egr valve itself had a hard feel to it. someone had inserted one of those old school glass fuses into the line. is there a reason or trick im missing out on? why would this line be plugged? obviously it was done for a reason. i just dont know what.

 

Probably their way of disabling the EGR system without making it obvious to an inspector.
