Default whats that noise???

i have a 96 accord lx...a couple days ago..it started making this noise..like there is a bunch of crickets under my hood...i hear it when my car is in gear...i hear it on the drivers side..then i hear it coming from the center....

what is going on under the hood??? any help is appreciated

Ohhhh, I REALLY need to link a picture from the first Men-In-Black movie here somewhere...

Seriously, it sounds like one of the external drive belts (alternator/AC/PS) is either loose or more likely getting old & hardened.

...i thought it was a M.I.B issue as well..lol..i will park my car..check the belts..will let you know what i find out....thank you for such a quick response

Spray water, or better yet belt dressing on the belt & see if the sound changes. Belt dressing isn't a good permanent solution, but it'll tell you if the noise comes from the belt or not.

i found out that it was the ac belt. i will change it tomorrow. I will let you know the outcome....thanks!!!
