Default While stopped, car rocks forward

1997 Honda Accord V6 Sedan Automatic

A/C is off
I'm in D4
I'm stopped at a red light
Foot on brake

Car feels like its wanting to rock forward, move forward, go
No increase in RPMs

If I switch to neutral, it stops

Its like... I stop.... rock forward.... (pause about 10 seconds) rock forward, repeat

Is your windshield defroster engaged?

Excess idle rpm might cause this symptom. What is idle rpm; N and D w/ foot on brake?

An intake air leak can cause an increase in idle rpm.

It is normal to have some tendency to move at idle in D, but not surge or pull forward against brake.

good luck

Not really sure what the idle rpm is.. The tach is wonky -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Haven't changed the ignition coil yet.

I think what Shipo is getting at...

When you select defroster, it switches on your AC. Then the AC clutch cycles on & off and perhaps this behavior is happening together with the AC clutch cycling.

Would that do it even if the defroster fan was off? I may have the button pushed, but fan is turned all the way off

Well, if you can figure out whether your AC is actually running or not, that's the important point. And whether that rocking behavior is related to it.

Ok, looked at it and none of the a/c heater defrost buttons were pushed in. Fan hasn't been turned on
