What light is that? CEL or Maintenance Req'd light?

That light comes on about every 3,000 miles or so to "remind" you that you need to change your oil or what have you. Sometimes the mechanic that changes your oil resets it for you. It's a simple procedure to reset it but if you've changed your oil, go ahead and follow these steps.

1. Push in and hold the odometer reset button.

2. While holding in the odometer reset button, insert the key into the ignition and hold for several seconds.

3. Turn key to "on" while still holding in the odometer reset button.

4. Hold in the odometer reset button until all of the warning lights have lit - after about 10 seconds the "maintenance required" light will go off.

On 1998 its every 7500 miles, to match the oilchange interval...
Step #2 wasn't necessary in my 1998, just turn it ON while holding the reset button.
