Default Will this work?

I had to replace the engine in my 2009 accord 2.4 L and I found out that the new one was a California emissions engine while mine is federal, I uploaded an image showing the main part that I'm unsure of that was broken on it that had multiple sensors on it and the one with the blue plug on top was from the original one. All four holes line up with the old piece except that the middle two share a channel instead of the California one that separated each one I was wondering if it might still work properly if I use that old one. it is a part that is on the same side as the exhaust. If not could I buy the proper one for the engine and maybe replace the wires that plug into all of the sensors in order to get the right plugs the federal one only has two plugs while the other has perhaps four.(it was broken up pretty bad)Also is there a way to convert the federal wiring harness to California

You probably have to use the oil control solenoid valve from your original engine if you're also using your original PCM.

The California PZEV valve has both an intake and exhaust rocker arm oil control solenoid as part of that assembly, with a separate oil pressure switch (intake) and an oil pressure switch (exhaust).

Your original valve has only the intake rocker arm oil control solenoid as part of that assembly. It also only uses the oil pressure switch (intake).

The cylinder head looks to be the same part number on Honda parts sites.

The PCMs are also different; so, you can't just change the wiring harness with connectors for those VTC oil control solenoids and oil pressure switches.

Is there a reason you want to convert it to California specs?

He probably isn't trying to convert to California specs. and only replacing his motor.

If that's the case, I'd just use the new (to him) long block, and re-use all of the old parts off the old engine.
