Default Wire mesh grille

Has anyone ever done one on a 6th generation? I was thinking about doing it on the project car me and my brother have but on the 02 ex coupes the bumper and the grille are one piece so I'd have to cut it out and I don't want to go in blind

Not sure on the 6th gen's......I know someone did this, thread some where, on a newer gen.

Instead of replacing the OE one they pulled the bumper and added the wire behind the OE one. More for added "rock" protection than "looks".

I used real expanded metal to do my car, to really protect the condenser. The small part behind the grill is just for continuity. A lot of people buy gutter guard from home depot, which is a lot easier to cut and install, but doesn't provide as much protection.

The car changed color since then, but the condenser guard is still there.

I haven done it yet because money's an issue right now but I think what I'm going to do is take the front bumper off and cut it along the seem where the " grille " is and just make a grille with a frame from some wire mesh and bent steel flat bar then modify the piece of the bumper I cut to be able to attach it. It'll probably be closer to when we paint the car this way I can cut the bumper and paint it right away.
