your thoughts, passenger lock switch
all doors can be manually locked and unlocked, just passenger power door lock will lock but not unlock, tried another lock switch i had lying around and same thing, so if its not the switch what could it be?
When you try to use the switch to lock it, do you hear anything? If you hear something (like the latch rods trying to move), it may be some problem with the latch rod connected to the door lock actuator. If you hear nothing and you tried it with a good known switch, then it may be the actuator.
An actuator is essentially just a motor with gears. See my post # 6 in this thread regarding testing the actuator.

Then it might be the actuator. The actuator is separately replaceable without removing the latch. I would test actuator first though to be sure. This other thread shows gives a little more info. on removing the actuator.

Generally, if the motor was dieing or died, it wouldn't respectively work well or at all, to lock or unlock. It may possibly be that enough gear teeth inside the actuator are broken/stripped that it no longer has enough grip/strength to push/pull the plastic tab on the latch mechanism to move the rod to unlock it.

In this attached picture, I added some notes with the blue arrows to one of my old pictures.
Inside the actuator, the motor goes in one direction or the other, depending on the polarity (+ and -) to the motor wires.
In one direction the motor moves the actuator gears and plastic lever. The actuator plastic lever, move a little plastic tab on the latch, which will move the latch to lock, in the reverse, it goes the other way to unlock. The rod moves in conjunction with the latch locking and unlocking.
Edit: In the notes to the picture, the plastic lever on the actuator will move the tab on the latch, which will lock/unlock the door latch. The rod moves in conjunction with it.
