so surfing some other forums and the web most suggest putting an intake on the 2013-17 accords should really be done with a tuner. as my reading most are referring to a full cai setup as it moves the maf sensor. im fairly partial to k&n brand as ive generally always run thier brand with 0 issues. looking at thier heat shielded sri the maf looks like its in the same location as a stock intake. personally i prefer the extra growl from an sri and the throttle response that doesn't get lost with a cai. ive run both types of setups on previous vehicles and the difference is negligible but i do believe there is a difference. so for me id take the lack of an extra 2 or 3 hp gain for a sri rather than a full cai. so question being if an sri leaves the maf in the stock location to the engine is a tune required? im not swimming in pool of cash like scrooge mcduck so all my mods would be done 1 at a time so i would like to hold off on a tune until my last purchase of the jpipe. please ignore my poor grammar for a while atleast 2 children and one being only 5 weeks old im generally fairly tired.
