Default accord mods

I have a 2000 EX V6 Coupe with about 189,000 miles! Lovin it! anywho, we just bought the car a while ago. and I haven't had the chance to start mods yet. I have changed the oil often, running only Mobil 1, with Lucas Oil Synthetic additives, and a K&N Oil Filter. I want to have a 10 second daily driver eventually! YEAH, I know...good luck! HAHA OK back to basics...The only mods I have so far, are in the aftermarket stereo, speakers, subwoofers w/amp, fog lights, Sylvania Silverstar Ultra high and low beams, and lastly, on the car when we bought it were Enkei 5 spoke rims, with 215/50ZR17's. On the front we have Continental ContiExtremeContact's, and on the rear, Goodyear Eagle H2's. (I am actually a big fan of the Continental...surprisingly!) I want to start with an intake and an exhuast. I will probably go with the K&N intake...I trust the brand. Exhaust is another story though. I want to have dual exhaust with and x pipe...alla 5.0 Mustang. Does anyone have any good suggetsions. I do not want LOUD, but I want it to sound good. I love the way a V8 sounds with a good exhuast. I know thats not possible, so you understand! Eventually, I would like to turbo charge the car, but in the future...money's kinda tight! Oversized pulleys look good also...anything that would give me a boost of power, and looks. Any help would be appreciated! thanks a million guys!

First of all... A 2000 with 189k miles? Holy cow!! How many miles were on it when you bought it, and how did it get so many miles on it?!?

Anyway, I would go with intake, headers, and an exhaust, those are good basic bolt on mods. K&N is a good brand, go with the full intake though, not just the filter. You can probably get a cheaper intake off of eBay though, and just replace the filter with a K&N one... Underdrive pulleys are a good upgrade after the big three though. Make sure you keep up with regular maintenance though, otherwise your aftermarket goodies are all for naught.

ya i agree with poser. first start with the intake, headers and exhaust. like he also said u dont need to spend 200 dollars on an intake just get it off ebay and buy a differ filter at the store. for headers and exhaust it will be hard to get it to sound like a v8 but there mite be something out there that can make it. maybe magnaflow exhaust?? then go with the underdrive pulley. i have and AEM pulley kit on my car. and then pretty much ur set with all the bolt on mods.

axle back and headers only for exhaust. anything else results in a loss of low end torque (which is already lathargic to begin with)

We bought itabout 9 months ago with around 170,000. We drove all over Denver, CO, and drove to Arkansas twice.....one time to move down here. I change the oil religiously, every 3,000 miles....Mobil 1, Lucas, and K&N oil filters. I had planned on doing the exhaust and intake. I was looking for people's take on certain brands, to see what I want to go with. The intake, is going to be the type 72 Typhoon from K&N. I was looking on the AEM website, and probably decided on their header...just looks good. Performance, and sound are what I am looking for with the exhaust. I really do like the car...sunroof, tan leather interior, only one small problem, seat has a small tear on the drivers seat...but other than that clean. The car was owned by a strict Asian guy, who had kept thecar up to par on services. I own a 1990 Cadillac and want to do a lot of stuff to it too, but the Honda has parts available, versus nothing for the Caddy. (make it on my own type of stuff) Do you have any brands in particular that you like, or won't buy anything but? Again, any help is greatly appreciated!

The nice thing about where I live now, there is no emissions....so I can play with the exhaust. I want to to true duals, like I said. I know I won't get a V8 sound...but I don't want bumblebee, or annoying. Like a 3.1 Cavalier with a huge tip....GRRR I hate that!! If I do what I want...two inch piping from the headers back...with and X-pipe, and then into the mufflers at the end of the car. If I were to do something like that, would Ilose THAT much low end torque? I see that you have a 02, is it a 6 or a 4? The reason I ask, you have some things done....I might have to check out some of your mods!!
TAHNKS AGAIN!!

Well everyone seems to favor the Apexi WS2 exhaust..which is what I have but you can just buy the mufflers too. Just be warned that your intake will be louder than your exhaust and you wont be able to hear it. OBX makes great headers for not a lot of $$. Intake wise, I chose AEM because they were the ones with the DryFilter which doesnt need oiled and wont void the warranty and I know its going to fit w/o any problems.

right now everything is pretty much stock inside and out....just for comfort I upgraded the stereo, and my girlfriend does a lot of driving so I upgraded the lights. I am looking at the Altezza projector headlights. The performance is more for me than her, but she wouldn't mind! I expect louder, but does it sound like the tuners when they just started with the exhaust, or does it kind of warble like a good Subie exhaust? The four cylinder Honda's can sound good, but most of them in Denver and around herew sound like a Chevrolet 3.1 with a cut exhaust...you know...chain saw!! hahaha I have been looking into Apexi, and AEM...both Companies have good reps...but I want clean sound and good looks...
